Computer Experience

My name is Brett Alton and I am a web developer and software engineer.

I received my Web Development diploma from Durham College in 2007, am currently enrolled as a Computer Science undergraduate at Trent University graduating in 2012. In 2010, became an official Ubuntu Member.

I have been involved with making websites since 2003, doing everything from programming, system administration, layouts, graphic design, project management, customer relations and accounting.

More About Me

I am the Chief Communications Officer and Chief Member Officer for the Green Party of Canada - Peterborough Riding - working with them since March 2009. I am interested in various arts and sciences, including music, film making, cosmology, evolution, horticulture, philosophy and sociology.

I am a green belt (5th kyu) in Shorinji-Kan Jiu Jitsu and am a certified Assistant Instructor and currently play ultimate, beach volleyball and soccer.

My favourite music ranges from rock, pop, ambient techno, folk and jazz. Specifically I listen to Arkells, Beastie Boys, Boards of Canada, Dave Matthews Band, Femme Fetal, Joanna Newsom, Joni Mitchell, Misery Signals, Oasis, Paramore, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, The Beatles, The Mamas and the Papas.
